Found a Joseph Flesher, born 10/27/1798 in Harrison, VA and died 6/29/1861 in Jay Co., Indiana. Joseph homesteaded just east of New Mt Pleasant, IN. Wilson was born just a few months after receiving patent to this land. Jay Co, IN is where Wilson married Loena just 3 months after his father died.

This reference also showed Joseph marrying Roxana Hall in Lewis, VA on 8/4/1818. Roxanna died 4 years later in1822. Joseph’s first child Adam was born Jan. 7,1819 to a Rozanna Hall, (5 months after their marriage). Adam apparently stayed in VA.

No reference to Nancy Harford although he likely married her after Roxanna died.

Joseph’s younger brother Adam Flesher married Nancy’s sister Elizabeth Harford. They too moved to Jay County, Indiana. Flesher Cemetery is on his homestead west of New Mt Pleasant, IN.

Family tradition has it that he shot the last bear in Jay County and boiled the fat for the rheumatism in his feet.
